Todd sent me links to some videos he made - one with the QuickStart bot and the other the TriBot doing its grab routine.

Does the "test pad"(from the TriBot video) come with the Mindstorms NXT retail version?
Andy
Yes, that's the paper pad that comes with the retail version. It really needs to be plastic as my kids are constantly stepping on it. My wife is a school teacher and said she will get it laminated.
Let us know if lamination changes the light sensor readings in an adverse way. :)
I hope that laminating will help!
If it works I will try to get mine laminated too, but i live in Norway so i have to wait untill September before i get mine :(
But thanks for letting me know that it comes with the set!
Andy
About laminating: you are going to add a reflective coating to the mat, that will strongly reflect light at one very specific angle, but not at others. I'd try this on a smaller sheet of computer-printed paper (a broad black stripe & a narrow black stripe, on a flat white background) first, to see what happens.

September, than you're lucky! We (over here in The Netherlands) have to wait until 15th of October...
That's a good idea Brian. I'll certainly do that before I goof up my large "pad".
Correct me if i`m wrong but i have heard that 1st September is the release for all the Europe...
I hope that i am right becouse(<--??) then every Mindstorms NXT fans will get theire hands on the NXT set at 1st September
We were using the NXT-G 2.1 programming and had difficulty with the touch sensor. The pressed function seemed to not work.
Anyone else have problems?
